Who?
Hello there…
My name is Dave.
I’m currently a Pitt-Bradford student majoring in Computer Science with an MIS minor. I’m a definite geek of the technology/gaming persuasion, which should come to no surprise if you’ve read one or two of my posts. I’ve been into computers for as long as I can remember, and have also been a gamer for the better part of my life. Whether hardware software or vaporware chances are it’ll catch my eye. Out of all of the categories of technology however, the one area that interests me the most (and the one I hope to have a career in some day) is web development. There’s nothing better than the mix of creativity and coding you can experience as a web developer and I think that’s why I love it.
That’s not to say other forms of programming aren’t equally creative though. I think I’m getting sidetracked.
I created this blog for a project back in April 2007 and it has blossomed since then. For that project I decided to install WordPress’ client software as an example of a powerful blogging content management system (plus the ever-popular and extremely neglected wiki and forum) and before I knew it I found myself writing at least once a week. I’ve since upped that to 2 posts a week and I really have fun with it. Back in high school I enjoyed my English classes quite a bit and I even thought I was a decent writer at one point, so I think this is just a way for me to flex that literary muscle a couple times a week. Still, I’ll be the first to admit that, as far as writing goes, I’m lacking prowess. Please bare with me. What’s worse is that my posts tend to be on the long side and they’re about things that won’t necessarily interest the bulk of people out there. If this blog isn’t for you trust me, I completely understand. =)
Either way thanks for visiting! If you have a question, concern or pretty much anything else to say please leave a comment. I love hearing what others have to say.
